Niseko United ski area overview

Niseko United is one mountain with four connected resorts (on-snow & shuttle).

Annupuri

Laid-back, well-groomed pistes for all abilities, regular fresh powder, and striking views. A thoughtful base layout and access to natural onsens (hot spring baths) make it a favourite for families and cruisers.

Niseko Annupuri International Ski Area

Niseko Village

Home to long fall-line trails through natural forests and superb storm-day tree skiing, with Hilton Niseko Village and The Green Leaf Niseko Village at the base for ski-in/ski-out convenience.

Niseko Village Ski Resort

Grand Hirafu

The largest of the four, offering an unforgettable powder experience plus the widest base-area facilities (hotels, condos, shops, restaurants). Hirafu is also the hub of extensive night skiing with long, floodlit laps.

Niseko Tokyu Grand HIRAFU

Hanazono

Modern lifts and gondola service a mix of progression groomers, dedicated learning areas, terrain parks, and celebrated tree runs. Après and services cluster around Resort Center HANAZONO 308 and Restaurant EDGE beside Hana 1.

Beginner

  • Family Run (Annupuri): A wide, confidence building green run (~580 m/1902 ft) with night skiing. Perfect for your first turns.
  • Juicy Fruit (Hanazono): A gentle (~800 m/2624 ft) slope at the base area, also open at night. Great for early progression and building technique.
  • Holiday Run (Grand HIRAFU): A long, gradual 2,883  m (9,458 ft) cruiser that lets beginners gain mileage comfortably, with no surprises.

Intermediate

  • Panorama (Annupuri): A scenic, undulating descent with dynamic terrain changes, an iconic blue run ideal for confident cruisers.
  • Silver Dream (Hanazono): A great first red: slightly steeper but still forgiving. A solid step-up for intermediates.
  • Utopia (Annupuri): A flowing, view-filled run with sustained length, another favourite among intermediate skiers.

Advanced & Expert

  • Mizuno Sawa (Gate 11, Niseko Village): An ungroomed powder basin that fills up beautifully after storms. Accessed via the Niseko Village Gondola when Gate 11 is open.
  • Annupuri Peak (via Gate 2): A short hike rewards you with open bowls, scattered trees, and a choice of advanced lines.
  • Hanazono East Face & Higashi Ona: Niseko’s largest peak-accessed backcountry zone. Expect steep, deep terrain. Ride the spines or central gully to reconnect with the cat track back to Hanazono.
  • Strawberry Fields (Hanazono): A famous bowl-shaped off-piste area with playful drops and perfectly spaced trees, ideal for deep powder days.
