4.5/5
WONDERFUL (705 REVIEWS)
705 REVIEWS
Perched between 1,930 m Obergurgl and 2,150 m Hochgurgl, “Gurgl” offers 112 km of high-altitude pistes with reliable snow from November to late April. A scenic nine minute ride on the "Top Express" gondola connects the two areas, allowing learners to stick to Obergurgl’s mellow blues, while confident skiers cruise long reds on Wurmkogl and Festkogel, and experts explore powder bowls above the treeline. Most accommodation sits right by the lifts, many with large spas, making it easy to trade skis for saunas at the end of the day. Evenings are low key, with piste-side umbrella bars, wine tastings, and fine dining ranging from hearty Tyrolean classics to Michelin-starred cuisine.
