Alpe d'Huez, offers an enchanting blend of sunny slopes, high altitude skiing, extensive ski terrain, and exciting après-ski.
Beginners: Two free lifts at the Rond-Point des Pistes serve wide nursery slopes, ideal for learning the basics without buying a pass. When you’re ready for longer runs, take the Marmottes gondola and follow gentle greens such as Jeux and Loup Blanc back to the village. Gradients stay mild, so confidence can build at a steady pace.
Intermediates: Alpe d’Huez is known for enjoyable cruising. Blue and red pistes link the Marmottes, Signal and Auris sectors, creating mile-long descents with uninterrupted flow. Highlights include the sunny reds in the Sarenne bowl, the quieter return to Villard-Reculas and the panoramic runs from Dôme des Rousses. Modern lifts mean you can explore most of the 250 km network in a few days.
Advanced & off-piste: From the 3,330 m Pic Blanc, experts can tackle the 16 km Sarenne black, the steep moguls of Tunnel, or guided routes into the Château Noir couloirs. North-facing slopes on the Glacier de Sarenne keep good snow, while the bowls above Clavans often hold untracked powder. A local guide is strongly recommended for glacier and couloir terrain.
Snowboarding: The main snowpark beside the DMC gondola offers graded lines from beginner boxes to pro-level kickers and an airbag for safe progression. A smaller park above Vaujany provides mellower features for learning tricks. Across the mountain, broad pistes, minimal drag lifts and natural hits on the Signal ridge give riders plenty of variety.
Alpe d'Huez is an excellent family destination, offering a wide range of family friendly activities. Highlights include the Junior ski zone atop the Signal lift, featuring a dynamic 1.9 km (1.2 mi) track with playful elements such as banked turns and a cow-themed slalom. Families can also enjoy exploring the 120 m (393 ft) long ice cave at 2,700 m (8,858 ft), which features thematic ice sculptures each year. For more indoor fun, the Palais des Sports offers over 20 activities, including mini-golf and an aerial obstacle course, ensuring there's always something for the whole family to enjoy
Snow activities: Snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice skating, snowmobiling, paragliding, snow biking, alpine coaster.
Non-skiing activities: Helicopter tours, ice skating, leisure centre, bowling, indoor pool, winter walking.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
