Les Gets, nestled in France’s Portes du Soleil ski area, is a favourite for families and mixed groups seeking a relaxing yet engaging winter holiday.
Beginners: The Mappy’s zone by the Chavannes gondola has magic carpets, gentle rollers and free uplift, perfect for kids’ first slides. Easy blues like Violettes give next-step confidence.
Intermediates: Cruise tree-lined reds on Ranfoilly, then cross to Mont Chéry for steeper, quieter pistes and Mont Blanc panoramas. A Portes du Soleil pass opens 600 km of similar terrain.
Advanced & off-piste: Challenge yourself on the steep Yeti black, or hunt powder in Mont Chéry’s bowls. A guide can show hidden glades that hold fresh snow long after a storm.
Snowboarding: Wide blues help learners, while advanced riders hit the park on Mont Chéry or natural hits below Ranfoilly. Chairlifts dominate, making life easy for boarders.
Les Gets truly shines as a family-friendly resort, holding the prestigious Famille Plus Montagne label, which highlights its dedication to catering to younger guests. The resort offers a variety of activities, including carpentry workshops for children, and events that ensure a fun and engaging experience for all ages. Family-friendly ski areas, like the Grand Cry Territory, provide themed slopes and adventure zones to keep children entertained. There are also medical services on hand for minor injuries, giving parents peace of mind.
Snow activities: Skidoo, snowshoeing, parapenting, ice skating, dog sledging, snow garden, luge.
Non-skiing activities: Bowling, cinema, leisure centre, swimming pool, Spa.
Les Gets boasts a vibrant restaurant scene that capitalizes on its strong agricultural roots, offering an array of around 60 high quality dining options. Chefs in the area make extensive use of local produce, creating menus that include typical mountain food and fine dining experiences.
Après-ski in Les Gets, tends to be quieter during the week but becomes more lively on weekends with the influx of weekend skiers. While the nightlife may not be as vibrant as in larger French ski resorts or its neighbour Morzine, Les Gets still has a decent selection of bars for those looking to enjoy traditional French après-ski.

I usually book flights, transfers, hotel, ski rental and lift passes myself but this year used WeSki for a trip to Morzine. It was so much easier. Everything worked perfectly - transfers arrived on time and there was plenty of feedback throughout the whole process giving you confidence the holiday would go smoothly.
A really useful service that is so much easier to use than other ‘all-inclusive’ sites. It nicely bridges the gap between a travel agent and booking the trip yourself online. I will use WeSki every time I go skiing from now on.
We booked a late minute skiing trip to Morzine through we ski. We looked at booking the trip ourselves but could get anywhere near the price quoted by we ski. The company was excellent and we had no problems at all from start to finish. I would definitely use them to book another weekend skiing trip.
Seamless experience from start to finish. I was spending ages trying to sort out a weekend break and managed to do it with we ski in minutes and for the same price as booking it all up yourself. Flight, transfer and accommodation was all as expected and faultless.
